Pool Fun

by Andrea Koloski from Temucula, CA United States on 2010-08-29
The pool is a lot of fun for the kids and if you have a level spot to put the pool in the set up is very easy. But I don't know anyone that has a level yard, so setting a level area was very difficult and labor intensive.

Two pools, each lasted 2 days!

I was so excited to get this pool for the small yard of our rental house. We brought the first one home, tried to level the area it would sit on and filled it. It WAS off by about 2 inches at one "corner", so when the seam on both sides leaked 2 days later, dumping out half the water, we figured it was at least partially our fault- that the seams had been stretched. We exchanged the pool. 20 cu ft of topsoil later, we had a perfectly level and soft pad(checked and double checked with a level on a board and strings on a stake, both!). We filled the pool and got another 2 days of enjoyment out of it. I removed the cover around 11:00 AM on Day #3. Everything seemed fine- including the inflatable tube. At 12:30, I went out to get into it, and the tube was partially deflated and half the water dumped out again!!!! We'd read numerous reviews before purchasing, so we were very careful, both times, to leave room for the air to get hot and expand in the tube. So now pool #2 is being returned for a refund! It's not like you can use the patch kit to repair an entire seam! It's just too bad I can't get back all the money I spent on water to fill it twice, as well as the chlorine and float, cover, skimmer, topsoil, etc!!! It's absolutely ridiculous.

Defective, very poor warranty return policy

by Jeffrey White from Manchester, MI USA on 2010-06-21
We purchased this product, and generally agree it could be a pretty good product. However, once set up, ours had a very small water leak. We wanted to get more than one year out of this pool, so we really didn't want a liner with even a tiny leak. If the product is defective, you cannot take it back to the store. The return policy is you have to call Intex, get a return number. Then cut out 4 separate patches from the liner, make a copy of the original receipt, find a box for the cutouts and receipt, pay to mail everything back to Intex, wait for the return to be processed at their receiving center and then they will mail you a new liner. Let's add this up: - Cut up liner (1 day) - Mail it back (2 days) if you pay the extra $ to ship their defective product back to them quickly - They receive and process the return (2 - 3 days according to the customer representative I spoke to) - They ship a new liner (4 - 5 days according to customer rep) So, that's up to 11 business days to get a new liner back. Which you then have to set up, get the wrinkles back out, make sure it is still level and refill with water. That's 2 weeks in real days. Explain that to your 6 year old; that they can't swim in the pool for 2 weeks. I asked to speak to a manager. They said they would call back. Of course they did not call me back. We're just living with the leak. It is almost certain the pool will not be usable next year. So we'll just buy another company's product next year.

Would Not Hold Air

How frustrating. After leveling an area in my yard which took forever we were so excited to set this thing up for my kids. We got it all ready at night to surprise them in the morning. When we woke up to show them, the ring had completely deflated and half of the water was emptied into the yard. Very disappointing. Called the company and they said it sounded defective and would send me a new one but it would take 2 weeks but I had to ship them stuff like a piece of the pool etc at my own expense, not to mention all the $$ wasted on over 1000 gallons of water. What a pain in the butt. I am returning it to Target today, I hope. Definitely Not recommended!

Loved it!

We used this pool all summer long last year. Would have lasted us to use again this summer if my sister's labrador had not kept jumping on it and making holes in the air ring. We sent the dog back and can't wait to get another pool for this summer?
